Four generations of winemakers, the Spada family started off with their great-grandfather Giuseppe in 1910, carrying on with grandfather Attilio, father Renzo and uncle Dino. All the way to the present day, with the three children retaining all the features of a truly locally sourced family-run company.
Alberto, Claudio and Francesco were so lucky to be born and grow up in the Valpolicella area, directly benefiting from their ancestors' heritage. Yet, they have also been daring, altering the drying and winemaking technique, to produce wines that - although closely bound to tradition - would also bring about a new lease of life.
The wine range includes Doc and Docg Amarone Classico Firmus, Recioto Classico Dulcis, Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico and the Rosso Veronese La Pola, Passito Rosso El Paso, Passito Bianco Le Palè Igts. All of them are made from grapes grown on the 10-hectare estate, in the San Pietro In Cariano plane, the very heart of the Valpolicella area.
Spada winemakers have followed the traditional process for years, endorsing the original genuinity and quality. There is a dedicated visitor's tasting area, and guided visits can be arranged. The goodness of the single wines will be the complement to the tidiness and accuracy of each row.
