Wines From Classico Region
Le Bignele winery was established a long, long time ago, in 1818. It all started with the land, and with the rural family that farmed it. It then expanded to cover today's 8 hectares, located 300 metres above sea level. The company is now led by brothers Luigi and Angelo Aldrighetti, along with outspring Nicola and Silvia.
A family-run business, backing its strong personality, which encourages collaboration involving both professional and blood bonds. Each of the partners has a special task, but at harvest time all boundaries fade, uniting all of them among the vines.
The unique character of their winemaking is proven by the number of wine kinds: 5. The list ranges from Dosèto del Nonno – Rosso Verona Igt to Valpolicella Classico Superiore Doc, from Ripasso to Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, all the way to Recioto. In addition to the company's pride, namely red Valpolicella wine, Le Bignele also makes extra cherry jam from trees grown in their Marano di Valpolicella estate.
Despite its family-run philosophy, the winery often enters international shows and is listed by three guides, in addition to having been awarded the Gilvert & Gaillard prize for Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Docg 2011 – 90/100.
